A Reuters headline suggests the weekly jobless claims fall, but trend weakening. The computer's take would be, don't look at the trend, look at time. Jobless claims, an important sub component of the EAC, have been trending down for 100 weeks (see EAC tab of Matrix). The cycle of time, BrST = 2.4, says 100 weeks is due for a reversal in 2019. In other words, jobless claims are due to rise in 2019 not because of the trend but rather TIME. The Fed might be guessing, but their decision to stop raising rates in 2018 has lots of support from the computer.
