Turkey Says They Detained and Deported One of The #Brussels Attackers

President Erdogan revealed that one of the Brussels attackers was caught at Turkey's Syrian border last June and deported to Belgium with a warning he was a foreign terrorist fighter. Belgium authorities released the suspect after they failed to establish any links with terrorism.

Ankara (AFP) - Turkish authorities in June 2015 detained and later deported one of the individuals behind the attacks in Brussels that killed 31 people, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.

"One of the Brussels attackers was detained in Gaziantep (in southern Turkey close to the Syrian border) and then deported" to Belgium, Erdogan told reporters in Ankara.
