The debate over privacy, the protection of the 4th amendment continues. Each side has it players. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, the maker of the Windows operating system that as recently as Windows 8 carried well publicized back doors and vulnerabilities likely against the wishes of its end-users, advocates that technology companies should cooperate with law enforcement in terrorism investigations. It's unlikely the public has a problem to accessing information when linked to due process - probable cause and search warrants. The Apple vs. FBI debate is likely taking place because of deteriorating trust and confidence that protection against unreasonable search and seizure has been exploited by the growing 'complexity' of technology.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has thrown his weight behind the FBI's demand that Apple give officials access to the locked, encrypted iPhone of one of the San Bernardino attackers.
